Winnipeg Philatelic Society
The Winnipeg Philatelic Society (WPS), founded
in 1900, is the oldest stamp club in Western Canada.
The purpose of the society is to provide facilities
for the encouragement and aid of stamp collecting
as a hobby.

Meeting Info
The WPS meets every first and third Thursday of the month
at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre, 764 Erin Street in
Winnipeg from September until June.
Doors open at 6:30pm, and meetings officially start at
7:30pm. The first meeting of the month is always a club
auction, the second meeting of the month is a
presentation.

the Club buy stamps or collections.

a
collection
has
value,
it
will
probably
be
in
the
albums
rather
than
in
loose
stamps.
Sorting
through
loose
stamps
is
time-consuming.
A
buyer
may
see
little
value
in
that
effort.
Perceived
value
also
varies
significantly from one buyer to another.

gathering
of
local
stamp dealers and coin dealers.
Annual
Show:
The
Club
holds
an
annual
show
in
early
May
each
year,
attended
by
local
and
out-of-
town dealers. Details will be on our website.
